What the product cures
Baytril Injectable Solution is used to treat infections caused by bacteria that are sensitive to enrofloxacin. Some of the conditions treated with the antibiotic include; wound infection (or abscess), liver infection, respiratory tract infection, and ear infection.
Pet Symptoms
Three common health problems treated by Baytril are; hepatitis, respiratory infection, and pyoderma.
Hepatitis is defined as inflammation of the liver. It is a serious condition in dogs, and can be caused by bacterial, fungal, or viral infections. Once developed, the infection can lead to complications such as; abscesses (pus filled pockets), inflamed bile duct, and liver tissue death. Symptoms associated with the disease include; lethargy, debilitation, vomiting, decreased appetite, frequent urination, weight loss, loose stools, increased water intake, shaking, painful abdomen, yellow skin pigmentation , rapid heartbeat, increased respiratory rate, and fainting.
Canine respiratory infections are one of the most common conditions diagnosed in dogs. In fact, canines are expected to experience at least one infection in their life. There are various types of respiratory infections in canines, but the ones seen more often are kennel cough and influenza. These conditions can typically be treated easily with antibiotics. However, serious complications such as pneumonia can develop if prompt treatment is not provided. Symptoms linked to respiratory infections in dogs include; discharge from nose and eyes, fever, coughing, difficult or labored breathing, excessive drooling, ulcers in the mouth or nose, decreased hunger, and reduced activity.
A skin infection, medically known as pyoderma, occurs when bacteria penetrate and invade the integumentary system. In most cases, the condition starts out as irritation of the skin, which then leads to an infection due to the introduction of bacteria through broken skin. Examples of health problems that can lead to a skin infection include; allergies, parasitic infestation, and insect bites. The condition has an acute onset, with rapid development of symptoms on the back, extremities, and chest area such as; oozing skin, inflammation, pain, foul odor, hair loss, redness, and pus.
