CET Aquadent, manufactured by Virbac inc., is a water additive for aiding pet dental hygiene.

WHAT THIS PRODUCT CURES

Aquadent supports dental hygiene while suppressing bad breath, fighting buildup of plaque and gingivitis. This product is used to improve dental hygiene coinciding with a well establish dental health care at home.

Dental disease also known as periodontal disease is not only a common infection of teeth in humans but cats and dogs as well. In fact, periodontal disease is one of the most common occurring diseases in our pets today. Periodontal disease is an inflammation of the majority of a tooth’s surrounding surfaces and deep supportive tissue. Periodontal disease eventually leads to bone loss, tissue destruction and an infection of the mouth.

In every mammal’s mouth the plaque accumulates itself upon the teeth which turns into calculus or tarter. These areas produce bacteria which cause great damage to the gums and teeth. Periodontal disease, Halitosis, tooth loss, and oral pain can occur. The molars are extremely sensitive for problems due to the location of the saliva duct just above the tooth. 2. I have read Xylitol (sweetener) is dangerous for pets and this is an ingredient in Aquadent. Is the product safe?

1. Absolutely, this product does not contain a large enough amount of Xylitol to be harmful. Make sure to give appropriate dose.

3. Will this product cure my pet’s periodontal disease?

1. This product will no cure or treat any established disease. This product is to prevent or slow down bacterial accumulation.

4. If I use this product can I stop using my at home dental routine?

1. This product provides the best results with an at home dental care plan.

5. What else should I use alongside Aquadent?

1. Pet dental paste purchased at local pet supply stores is a perfect additive with this product, used to brush teeth.

6. How often should I use Aquadent?

1. Use this product every day.

7. How long will the effects of this product last?

1. The affects of this product will last for several hours after pet drinks.

8. Can my pet taste the product?

1. No, Aquadent is completely undetectable to cats and dogs.

9. Will this product interact with my pet’s medications?

1. This product is not known to interact with any medications. Talk with your veterinarian before use if your pet is on medications for diabetes.

10. Will this product affect my pet’s urine?

How it Works

Aquadent kills bacteria in the pet’s water bowl. Solution prevents food particles to build up into tarter after eating. 

 

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:

Dogs and Cats:

• Shake well before using.
• Provide additional fresh water as needed.
• Discard all treated water not consumed after 24 hours.
• Prepare fresh product solution each day.

*light discoloration in water solution is normal.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:

Dogs over 25 Ibs	2tsp (10ml) treatment	1 quart(950ml) water
Dogs under 25lbs	1 teaspoonful (5 mL)	1 pint (475 mL)
Cats	1 teaspoonful (5 mL)	1 pint (475 mL)

Ingredients

 Purified water, Glycerine, Xylitol, Polysorbate 20, Potassium sorbate, Emilgase (enzyme), Zinc gluconate, Sodium benzoate, FD&C Blue No. 1, FD&C Yellow No. 5 and Chlorhexidine gluconate.

Product Cautions

Read product directions entirely before use.

DO not give more than the recommended dose.

Not intended for human consumption.

Keep out of reach of children.

Do not reuse treated water past 24 hours.

Pets: Intended for use in cats and dogs 6 months of age and older. No adverse side effects reported. Avoid over dose, product contains the chemical Xylitol and can be hazardous in large amounts.

Humans: Not intended for human consumption. Large amounts of the product may cause harm to humans. Contact a poison control center promptly upon ingestion. In case of accidental eye exposure, flush the eyes with water for 15 minutes then seek medical attention.

Environmental Hazards:

Dispose of product containers appropriately.

Disposal: Empty containers should be disposed of as directed and never re-used. Recycling or garbage disposal is viable as directed upon product label. Consult a medical waste agency for directions to depose of remaining drug and container. Contact 1-800-CLEANUP for additional information.

Storage: Store at room temperature.
